Canterbury’s monster spotters are second-to-none

Image

Half term is always a good time for monster spotting, and this week proved no exception as Georgie and Squeezy searched for all things monstrous at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. Our audiences proved a brave and imaginative bunch of monster-spotters, helping spot pink, one-eyed aliens and water monsters with teeth as sharp as icicles, as well as providing some of the most energetic alien-scaring whistling we’ve ever heard! Thank you to all our brave monster-spotters and their adults, as well as everyone at the Marlowe Theatre for welcoming us so warmly – and even naming a dressing room after Georgie!

Fly me to the Half Moon!

Misunderstood-Monsters-at-Half-MoonGeorgie and Squeezy had an excellent adventure this weekend on their return to the wonderful Half Moon in Limehouse, London. Half Moon is where the monster spotting first began in earnest, and it was great to be back. Our audiences of monster spotters were decidedly descriptive and incredibly imaginative, and made sure Georgie and Squeezy kept on track in the hunt for monsters, especially crocodiles! Thank you to Chris, Suzie and Fred and everyone at Half Moon for welcoming us back, and to our lovely audiences for making our monster catching so much fun!

A most scurvy monster!

Misunderstood-Monsters-at-RSC-StratfordOne of the best things about monster catching is that we get to meet such a fantastic crew of fellow spotters. Stratford’s RSC may be best known for Shakespeare, but it certainly produced a fine bunch of monster spotters who filled five shows with fantastic descriptions of monsters and aliens, and enthusiastically encouraged Georgie and Squeezy on. Thank you so much to everyone who came, and in particular to Julianne…happy birthday! Many thanks also to everyone at the RSC, and to Nicky for making sure our monster spotting was of the toppest notch.

Compass audience point Georgie and Squeezy in the right direction!

Compass Theatre signThank you SO much to our lovely audiences at the Compass Theatre in Ickenham last week. Both shows were attended by some of the bravest monster spotters we’ve come across this season, and  Georgie and Squeezy felt in safe hands as they braved water monsters, spiders and aliens. Thank you to everyone at the Compass Theatre for making us so welcome, and for putting together such a great monster-themed half term.

A monster-tastic day at Middlesbrough Town Hall

Misunderstood-Monsters-at-Middlesbrough-Town-HallGeorgie and Squeezy spent a fantastic day spotting monsters at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Saturday. The enthusiasm of our fellow-spotters in the audience was exceptional, and they also got the chance to take part in some monster drawing, and to dress up in as monstery a way as they wished. Particular congratulations to the two winners of the best-dressed and most enthusiastic monster spotter prizes! Thank you to everyone at Middlesbrough Town Hall, especially Lisa, Siobhan, and Paul for looking after us so well, and for putting so much into making the day a monster-tastic experience all round.
